Message from the Principal

I’m truly excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Stigall Primary! My name is Debbie Sheehan, and I feel honored to become part of this wonderful school community—a place known for its dedication to student success, caring staff, and engaged families.

Allow me to share a little about my background: I bring 25 years of experience in education, fueled by a strong commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and ensuring a nurturing, inclusive environment. I earned a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Tennessee–Martin, hold a K‑8 Elementary Education license from Union University, and have completed two Master's degrees—one in Instructional Design & Technology (UT Martin) and the other in Instructional Leadership (Tennessee State University). Over the past two decades, I’ve taught in Jackson and Medina, served three years as an Instructional Coach here at Stigall, and most recently led East Elementary as principal for the last three years.

At Stigall, my vision is to build on our strong foundation of excellence and achievement. I look forward to collaborating with our exceptional staff to provide a high-quality, enriching experience for every child. I believe in creating a positive school culture that celebrates student accomplishments, builds strong character, and recognizes the unique talents each child brings.

Open communication between home and school is vital to student success. I invite all parents and guardians to be active partners in their child’s learning journey—attending school events, volunteering, and supporting our programs makes a real difference.
